This month the Sunsational StampsDesign team is creating projects based on Camping and Nature. We're having a Camping/Nature Challenge on our Facebook Group -Sunsational Stamps Challenges. The other Design Team members have made some really amazing projects. I too wanted to bring you a fun project. I made a gate fold card that opens up to a wonderful camping scene. I truly wanted to bring you to the campground. I used several stamp sets to create all the components for my card. I enjoy mixing and matching my stamp sets and these really lend themselves well for this.
Here is my card - Front I drew & fussy cut out the tree post for my sign. The letter I used are a font on my computer. I used pattern paper(small trees- Paper Studio - Hobby Lobby) for the background. I then colored the paper with TH Distress Oxide Inks. to make the sky and ground.
When you open the card you see the camping scene all with a loving couple toasting marshmallow by the fire, sipping on cocoa and a night sky, woodland critters peaking in on them.
I used again Distress Oxide ink to create the sky and ground. All critters, bears, trees, mountains and camping equipment were colored with PrismaColor Colored pencils. Foil paper was used for the moon and some Zig Wink of Stella was used on the fire and love hearts. The sentiment was placed just over the tree reads: Like campfires and marshmallows, we're better together!
I hope I inspired you to want to create your own camping/nature scene card and join us over at the Facebook group - Sunsational Stamps Challenges - where you can enter your wonderful project. You can find all of the sets I used and more at the Sunsational Stamps Store Thanks for stopping by today.
I am honored to be a Guest Design Team Member for Crafaholics R Us Blog this week. I was asked to create a project or two by sweet Janis. She gave me a theme to and I off and SAILing!?... The theme for this Challenge is Pirates!! Aaarrrggghhh!! Matey! I know how fun is that?!? I created this little treasure chest card.
When you open it up - it reveals a wonderful scene and sentiment. It's full fun layers and dimension.
I used the Lawn Fawn - Ahoy, Matey stamp set, along with another stamp set & dies from my stash. I created the sky & sand background using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. I made sure to use Florida in my made paper behind the sentiment.
Here is another fun Pirate theme creation.
It's a layout of my son pretending to be a pirate - well a pirate that doesn't do anything. It's from a children's show & song.
For this layout - I drew the skull and crossbones. Created a stencil by cutting the card stock with a craft knife. Laid it on my layout card stock and painted over it. I then distressed the edges of my page to give it a treasure map feel. I backed the torn areas with pattern paper for a pop of color. Stamped part of my title and cut it into tile letters. Outlined, the pictures with a white chalk pen adding pirate phrases along the way.
Now, Over on the Craftaholics R Us Blog - You will find more Pirate themed projects. As well as a Challenge. Please be sure to stop by & SEA - Look at all the fantastic & Booty-ful creations by the Design Team. While you are there - join the challenge you Scallywag!
